The Grey Reef tail water is an excellent trout fishery. Clear, cool water from the reservoir maintains optimum water temperatures for trout populations and year round fishing opportunities.

Upper Grey Reef – Current Flow

(Grey Reef Dam to Government Bridge)
River Level/Conditions: 4,700 cfs
Hatches: Midges, Baetis
Forecast: Call for fishing Forecast

Do not forget that below Grey Reef (cable to cable is closed until May 1st).  Please use extreme caution when wading with these high flows.  The upper river has been fishing well.  Midges, baetis, leeches, scuds and eggs seem to be top producers.  Baetis hatches have been coming off every afternoon.  Try barrs emergers, downey wonder nymphs, RS-2′s in gray and olive along with juju baetis in sizes 18, 20 and 22.  Concentrate your efforts fishing inside the soft water.  Feel free to call the shop for your most up to date reports (307) 234-6905.
