Crazy Rainbow Fishing Guide:
Ty Hallock grew up near Sturgis South Dakota where he taught himself to fly-fish small streams in the Black Hills. While growing up loved to fish and hunt with his Dad. Fishing trips to Montana and hunting pheasants in De Smet South Dakota are treasured memories of spending time with his dad. Most of his artistic talent was taught and given to him by his mother Diane who still lives in Sturgis. Growing up Ty drew wildlife pictures and gave to family and friends. Ty went to Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He majored in Art and then later changed to wildlife management. While in school he painted and sketched numerous drawings for the ornithology department to use in class. After graduation his high school sweetheart and he moved to Southern California to start their lives together. Ty did seasonal positions for Minnesota Wildlife Association, USFWS and USGS. In his travels he taught himself how to carve duck decoys and hones his skills with a fly rod. Ty and his wife moved to Southeastern Oregon to Malheur Wildlife Refuge. With nothing but time on his hands he really started carving and painting more. In 2004 he and his wife moved to Wyoming to be closer to home (but not too close) to start raising their family together.
